December
30th 60 days almost, since my last real update. Halloween has passed, Thanksgiving has passed, my first term of University has passed, and I managed to pass all of my courses so far. Christmas has also passed, and I suppose you could say that I'm still enjoying the aftermath. Merina, Nathan, Ji-Young (a friend of Merina's) and myself have been in Manitou now since late Christmas eve and it's been a great (if not very busy) break. Not that I really needed one... Lots of people, lots of food. I managed to get the "one night only flu of death" a day or so ago. It's nice to be over that.
So what did everyone get for Christmas? Steve got me a copy of Final Fantasy V (haha) which I've been enjoying immensely. Merina got me some great AE boxers and lounge-ey pants. Her parents got me a copy a Zelda: Twilight Princess. This is me almost totally surprised. Nathan even brought his Gamecube, super sweet. I also got this great Subway "action playset" from Kalon. Reminds me of the days when things were so very simple for me, working til 4am every night, not having to think anything of the future.
Probably my favorite gift though, was the one from my Mom. She had put together a fantastic scrapbook of pictures and things that have happened since I moved to Winnipeg. Pictures of me here, me at home, the family... it's really great. Even though it's impossible for me to ever forget the past and memories that I love, I do find myself being less nostalgic at times (uh, usually I'm always nostalgic). Perhaps I'm just too caught up in the present going-ons in my life, but something like this is really extra meaningful to me.
So now it's only a few more days until a little New Years party and then it's back to work and classes. My schedule is almost the same this term, but with an extra lecture and lab and also a work schedule. Hopefully nothing I can't handle.
