Yay! School! Actually, it hasn't been much work at all, and the only thing I really notice about going is that I walk a lot more and that my bank account is shrinking really fast. Got a few tests coming up for Chem and Philosophy, but they should be really easy :\

Things are going well though. Weathers been nice in Winnipeg for October, but I hear there's a chance it may snow next week. Got my "dungeon" all setup over the last few weeks, which is essentially me moving all my AV stuff and setting it up in the basement so that I can use it whenever I want to (rather than it being a living room sort of thing for everyone. I'm so selfish). I think it works the best for everyone though.

So now I'm just getting packed up to head up to Manitou for the remainder of the Thanksgiving weekend. Can't wait to play on the swings at the school! Hope everyone eats lots of turkey (or not if you have to wait for November). I'll try to write again soon, as well as more frequently.

So how was everyones Thanksgivings? Mine was good here, out in Manitou and Grandma's Farm with Nathan, Merina and her family. Ate lots, and didn't study enough.... which resulted in me staying up until 3 am trying to cover everything for Chem and Philosophy. Wrote the tests on Tuesday and I think I did pretty good (first tests!). I'll be sure to post the results...

Played a bit of Godhand in the afternoon today after messing around with Denis' PSP. Godhand got a 3 from IGN, and it's pretty easy to see why. Kind of fun, the music rules, but... not really the quality you've come to expect from Capcom.

I think that I'm going out to a lounge place of some sort tonight, so I'll leave it at that. Goodnight!

face Lazy... ish.

It's been SNOWING the last 2 days here in Winnipeg and elsewhere around the prairies. All I can say is that this whole "Global Warming" trend is BULLCRAP. It was 30 Celcius when I was in Winnipeg for the first time 2 years ago and that apparently was not typical at all. I don't think the gas-guzzlers are trying hard enough yet.

Last night was an quiet but interesting evening. Robin, Merina and I went out to a dinner/lounge type place called The Academy to see Ainsley Friesen, a friend of Robin's, perform. It was an fully acoustic solo set, very quiet, emotional, and absolutely fantastic. Exactly the kind of stuff that I would play... if I ever could :\ I picked up a CD at the end, but it was from 1998 so doesn't really have the same complexities as what we had heard live, but I'm still happy with it.

Today's classes for me are now over, and I've got a bit of studying to do before a Bio test on Monday. That is... after I give the new Shin Megami Tensei a try :)

Just got back from seeing Sloan at the Silverado with Robin and his friend Paul. What a FANTASTIC show! Played (almost) everything I wanted to hear with a great encore. I do feel a little dumb about something, which I'll explain further.

Before the show, there was ONE song that I wanted to hear more than anything. "Lester the Molester" (I know that it's CHESTER the Molester, but somewhere along the line I convinced myself that it was Lester...) During the show however, someone beat me too it and began chanting: "CHESTER THE MOLESTER!" Which I thought was funny, because it was LESTER and not CHESTER (what's wrong with me??) and in a few minutes I had Paul yelling LESTER as well as one or two other confused people... I'm retarded, yes. But anyway, all we got in response from the band was a few seconds of a piano intro, well more than I was expecting anyway.

As I had mentioned the show was great. Screamed my lungs out when I knew the words, but some songs were just too new or a little too old for me (played lots of new material from "Never Hear the End of it", 30 tracks!) and we even got treated to some cowbell and a couple of colaborations with the opening act.

But wait, that's not all! As Robin and Paul headed to the car, I bumped into the piano player and got to chat a bit about the correctness of "Chester the Molester" and if I was the one yelling it (technically I wasn't :P) and also how the other band members thought that it was so mean of him to play even the intro, as they haven't played it in years. I told him that was a shame as it was the one song I really wanted to hear and then headed out as I had lost Robin by that point.

So now I'm back home, it's late, and my ears are ringing like crazy. Great night to end the week.

Oh yeah! I got some of my test results back. 88% on the Philosophy quiz (should have been 91%...) and 86.4% on Chemistry. I've gotten the Bio answers back and am not expecting that I did as well on that exam... but I'll just have to wait and see.

Goodnight!

Happy Halloween! And what did we get here in Winnipeg for Halloween? Not candy (I had to buy that), but SNOW! 10cm of it at least, and it's miserable. Reminds me on how I should have bought boots instead of sneakers seeing as though I almost wiped out about 800 times today on the way to school and back. The stuffs packed so good that it's a skating rink out there. Shoveling the driveway was mostly a "hacking away at it" afair...

Merina's left as of this morning. Gone to Toronto and Montreal for a week with the University Singers choir. She seemed pretty stressed out about the whole thing, having to write tests early... but I really think that she's going to enjoy herself. At least if anything, she's gotten the chance to get away from this godawful weather (and my whining about it) for a bit.

So now seeing as though it's approaching suppertime, I really should be getting everything ready for the onslaught of candy craving children... or rather those courageous enough to brave the ice and snow :\ They'll be working hard for their sugar this year.
